{monday inspiration}

Here's some inspiration for this memorial monday:
{work hard and be nice to people}
I'm loving the background--pinkish wall paper hues, typewriter, profile silhouette portrait, & an image of a robin's egg blue tea cup!
happy monday!! {& remember, hard work isn't a bad thing, & being nice to people isn't either--you might just find that the world shines on you a little brighter}

{antiquing}

Last week I took the bus to Toronto and had a layover in Hornell. I had a few hours to kill & so I ventured into the never-ending Erie Line Antiques. The store goes on & on...not only on the first floor, but then extends two floors up. It's a bit of a hodgepodge, and you have to really sort through heaps of stuff, but there are certainly some exceptional gems to be found, and at reasonable prices too!
I love these old trunks displayed in the windows:
{I like the various compartments in this one}

{look at the great details on this one. Do you think this little envelope is for tickets etc??}
Once you reach one of the top floors (which is eerily empty) there's a room in the back that has an original safe built into the wall. It seriously blew me away:
{how amazing is this? Set right into the wall!}

{gorgeous painted detail}

{packing for summer travels}

{via hip paris}

{via ohhellofriendblog}
This summer I'll be in Italy for a couple of weeks, and then in the UK (mostly London) for July. I've got 3 conferences to attend, archives & libraries to research, sites to visit/research, and fun to be had. So, what to bring for this long trip, when I don't want to be lugging a heavy suitcase? (and when I want plenty of room to bring back great European purchases!)
I'm a big fan of travel, suitcases, & all that goes with it (for my blog on travel & leisure, click here.)
Here, below, are some inspirations for my hols, my suitcase, my outfits, & travels. I've recently signed up on pinterest, and my oh my, what a lovely site full of wonderful images. Many of the photos for this blog have come from there. I encourage you to check it out.

I stumbled upon some great advice on packing in the latest lucky. They had a gorgeous selection of different clothes to bring for different vacations from Sardinia to Stockholm to Jackson Hole. You can watch a video on how to pack on lucky mag's website here.
I love these recommendations on how/what to pack from daily candy or you can download a gorgeous pdf (with pictures) here.
There's also a good list at all about style with pics etc...

These outfits from the Spanish Blanco offer some great choices for an extended vacation:

Here are some essentials:
{more useful stuff: camera (funky orange at that), funky suitcases, pastel nail polish, scarf, flat yet funky sandals, light khaki trousers, & a flowy top. from une-deux senses}
{more elegant option with heels & a metallic journal}
{again, some glamour, with sexy underwear, silky blouse, shorts & extra sparkle on the ballerinas. these three collections are by une-deux senses}
Here's another great combo for travelling. The dress looks super comfy but still stylish:

This luggage (below) from steamline is great-it has the look of vintage luggage but with the modern convenience of wheels:

What am I most looking forward to? Wandering around Naples, having a cappuccino, eating gelato, & taking in the adventure.
